Compost your food scraps.

In 2022, our farmers market served as the start of a community composting program, led by market volunteers and local farmers James Amenta and Asheigh Lovelace.

In collaboration with the Shandaken Conservation Advisory Council, this compost collection was transformed into a town-wide residential drop off program at the Shandaken Town Hall recycling center.

To compost your food scraps, visit Town Hall Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:30am-12:30pm.

Unfortunately the farmers market is no longer a collection site. For more information on composting and what’s accepted, visit the town website.
