Our farmers market serves as a drop-off site for a community composting program led by our market volunteers and local farmers James Amenta and Asheigh Lovelace. Look for the purple sign to find the collection bin by the market entrance. Divert your organic waste from the landfill and it will be turned into rich soil.
Can’t make it to the market this week?
The Town of Shandaken now offers composting! You can drop off your food scraps at the Town Recycling Center.
The Center is open Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7:30am to 12:30pm.
